A Man Called Joe Kelly

This ‘song’ is to the tune of Ghost Riders in the Sky and it was penned for the special night of his fortieth birthday back in 2005

A man called Joe Kelly from Ballycumber he came

Into Ballinderry seeking fortune and fame

It’s where he found Angela and he’s never looked back

‘Course Jimmy and Teresa give him plenty of flack

Yipee eye eee, Yipee eye oooooo

Ghost riders in the sky

Frame a picture, tile a kitchen, build a wall that’s for sure

Never let it be said he’s no entrepreneur

Window fitter, dog breeder, truck driver and more

This mans had more jobs than you and me by the score

Yipee eye eee, Yipee eye oooooo

Ghost riders in the sky

A true Off lyman now for years Joe has been

Until in Croke Park last July he was seen

Wearing the White and Maroon big and bold

At home in the wardrobe lies the green, white and gold

Yipee eye eee, Yipee eye oooooo

Ghost riders in the sky

Tonight Joe turns forty, he’s here man and boy

And it aint just the kids that he makes jump for joy

Sure we all know and love him now that is no lie

And one thing we can say is Joe Kelly aint shy

Yipee eye eee, Yipee eye oooooo

Ghost riders in the sky

Be on the look out …

“Make someone’s day” is a great recommendation. I read it in the book Fish written by Steven Lundin. He says it doesn’t have to be a life changing gesture. For some people at some times the phrase ‘How are you’ could change their life or make their day if used
